Like our clients, each of us at The Forest Edge is unique in who we are and what we offer. Let’s find the right fit for you.

  • Selina Giacinto, MA, LPC

Hello, my name is Selina (pronouns: she/her) and psychotherapy is my passion and my path. I embarked on this work in 2011 and have deepened it ever since, seeking to understand trauma, the nervous system, and therapeutic approaches that allow people to live a full life. I have also taken a deep dive into understanding relationships and the way attachment wounds and other aspects of the human experience hinder our ability to deeply connect and feel nourished in relationship. You may find yourself needing stability or sovereignty in the wake of a traumatic experience; or you may seek greater alignment with your own integrity and are asking “who I am really?”; or you decide it is finally time to find relief from anxiety, depression, and daily stressors; or you desire greater connection, communication, and cooperation in your family or partnership. If you are looking for any of this and more, I would be honored to be a part of that process.

Specialty offerings include Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and couple’s and family retreats, including 1/2 day, full day, and multi-day retreats (lodging not provided).

My formal education took place at Naropa University where I earned a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Wilderness Therapy. I have since continued with training in mindfulness practice in therapy, somatic (mind/body) trauma therapy, dyatic developmental psychotherapy (DDP), PACT level 2, EMDR, DBT, and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.

  • Max Woodfin, MA, LPC

Hi! My name is Max and I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2008, with a focus on grief counseling, life transitions, disaster and war trauma, and depression and anxiety. My work with clients relies on understanding our developmental history (everything from pre-birth until now), the neuro-psychological link between our minds and body, and our fundamental connection to the natural world. Conveniently, I love spending time outside and so do most of my clients! My work with you will be a journey in time and space, where we will explore the stabilizing power of relationship with animals, plants, and earth. I have taught clinical counseling at Naropa University for five years and have led numerous field courses for Naropa's Wilderness Therapy program. Prior to my work as a counselor I was an international educator, guiding students on remote programs in Tibet, Southeast Asia, and India. I am also a veteran and serve as an officer in the National Guard.

The relationships we have with the world and ourselves paint the picture of our everyday experience. By working with attachment, creativity, honesty, and acceptance we can begin to evaluate these relationships – discovering freedom and choice in dimensions of your life where you may have previously believed there was none.

Together we will slowly wander towards a deeper sense of self – maintaining curiosity and compassion at the core of our work. We will explore utilizing nature based interactions, somatic experience, myth, mindfulness, transpersonal invitations, playfulness, humor, and other creative and dynamic exercises.

Ultimately, my hope for our shared time is that you get to know and accept yourself in a deeper and more connected manner. Together we will work towards an integrated experience of your own innate wholeness – moving at a pace which feels best for you.

About me: I grew up in Colorado receiving my undergraduate degree in Biology from Colorado State University and a masters from Naropa University in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. My path has been a non-linear adventure of exploration – gathering unique interests, experiences, and skill sets. Through a complicated and unpredictable process, a trail revealed itself leading me whole-heartedly to this vocation. This work is not a destination but a pathway forward, co-creating a better place for all of us one stumble at a time.
